Homelessness in America has reached alarming levels, with over half a million people experiencing homelessness on any given night. This includes families with young children, veterans who have served our country, and individuals who have fallen on hard times due to job loss, medical emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances. The lack of affordable housing is a primary driver of this crisis, as rising rents and stagnant wages have pushed many households to the brink of despair.  

In Cleveland, Ohio, the situation is particularly dire. The city has been grappling with high poverty rates and a severe shortage of affordable housing for years. The waitlists for Section 8 housing vouchers are long, and the availability of suitable housing for larger families is critically low. This scarcity forces families into overcrowded and substandard living conditions, further diminishing their quality of life and opportunities for advancement. Every person deserves the dignity of a safe and stable home. Children deserve a place where they can grow, learn, and thrive without the constant fear of displacement. Parents deserve the peace of mind that comes with knowing their family has a secure and affordable place to live. Veterans deserve to be honored with the stability they fought to protect.
